Yes I’m fine thanks. I, and Malcolm, really enjoyed ourselves. The accommodation is significantly better than the hotel plus the food etc, and general pampering by Josh’s girlfriend, was fantastic.
The fishing was really enjoyable. We caught every day but on a couple of days we chanced on large shoals of Jack Crevalle and Tuna and filled our boots with surface lures. This was really exciting, seeing the fish nail the lures, plus they fight so hard! First time we encountered the shoals I stop counting at 20 fish, mainly Jacks, and on another occasion I had over 15 fish to successive casts! We caught loads of these. In addition we caught Wahoo, a few Roosters, some very large garfish and a big yellowtail tuna. I had a nice Rooster, 25lb+, and a couple of big Wahoo fall off right beside the boat, after doing all the hard work of playing them, but that’s fishing!
Josh has great boats and great skippers, or captains as they like to call them! Lance was great company and, as usual, was always trying to put us on fish. I would throughly recommend this trip to anyone who likes lure and/or bait fishing as well as fishing with flies.
All in all a great eight days.
