After some excellent early season fly fishing during the opening week in November, we have announced our hosted fly fishing dates on New Zealand’s South Island for 2018. With snow capped mountains and beautiful scenery, early season certainly has some advantages in the fish being less pressured with numerous great rivers and backcountry water to target.
Fly Odyssey has been hosting trips to New Zealand for the last ten years, utilising local NZPFGA guides. Targeting freestone rivers, small streams, spring creeks and backcountry systems we had rainbows to 11lb’s and Browns landed to 7lb’s in November both on nymph and dry fly – it’s an excellent time to visit.
