Trout Fishing course

Join AAPGAI Master Instructor & Writer Paul Procter and Fly Odyssey’s Gilly Bate for a two day residential workshop held on the middle reaches of the Aberdeenshire Don at Kildrummy. With much of the talk centered around specimen fish this course is aimed at wild brown trout and the methods required to tempt them. Guests will stay at the Kildrummy Inn with its award winning chef David Littlewood.
Day One Morning Itinerary:
Assemble at Kildrummy Inn for breakfast at 8am before heading down to the riverside bothy
Practical discussions including; Rod Selection, Fly Line Profiles, Tackle Assembly
Leader Set-ups & Knots.
Coffee break:
Hands on entomology, followed by watercraft, where trout chose to lie, food lanes etc.
Casting demonstrations with advice on dry fly and nymphing tactics.
Lunch:
Day One Afternoon Itinerary:
Fishing – putting theory into practice with Paul and Gilly circulating amongst the group
Regroup at 5pm before heading back to the Inn for dinner
Day Two Afternoon Itinerary:
Following breakfast participants will have a full day on the water guided by Paul & Gilly. This allows for individuals to discuss various tactics on a one to one basis.
Cost: £630 per person
Includes: Two days tuition/guiding & fishing permits. Full board accommodation for two nights at the Kildrummy Inn
